Every year on Mother’s Day, there is a brunch that is held there to celebrate the day. In Henderson, there is an event that is called “First Fridays”, aptly named, which occurs every first Friday of the month. Scheduled to be starting on May 4th this year, attendees will enjoy lunch and live music in downtown Henderson. Patrons may bring their own lunch or grab to-go from any of the delicious restaurants or local food vendors. Though, the biggest event that is held in Henderson would have to be the W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival. Over the course of three days in the middle of June, the town is filled with live music, fantastic food, and better people. With performances by artists such as Ghost Town Blues Band, Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band, Eric Gales, and Walter Trout, it is easy to see why people flock to this festival from all over the country.

Besides Farmer & Frenchman, the best and longest-standing establishment in Henderson is Metzger’s Tavern. Named on the Huffington Post’s top 25 dive bars in the United States, Metzger’s Tavern is the oldest continuously operating tavern in the state of Kentucky. This historic institution has stood proudly in the town of Henderson since 1869. Serving appetizing food, cold beers, and being the watering hole for the community of the city.
